Colon adenoma

Disease information

Colon adenoma is a benign glandular tumor of the colon, which is originated in a single crypt. It is often called colon polyps. Most of them remain benign, but up to 10 percent of them can transform into cancer over the course of about 10-15 years. Anyone can develop colon adenoma, and anyone older than 50 is at higher risk. Colon adenoma often doesn't cause symptoms.
